The owners of electric cars have seen the display of charging stations

Electric cars are an increasingly widespread means of transport. This is despite their still high prices and weaker availability of charging stations in some regions. It is with the second problem that community navigation now wants to help, at least in part Wazewhich will be according to the portal AndroidCommunity finally show on the map.

The novelty is currently only available in the USA

Her sister navigation application Google Maps has had this information available for several years. It’s one of the few times Waze takes over some of it and not the other way around. Waze has teamed up with Volkswagen and is now displaying charging stations for electric cars in the United States as part of this collaboration. Until now, only regular petrol stations were visible in the navigation. Drivers will also be able to add them to their current planned route as a stop.

Starting the news at this time is of course intentional, as the next few days of Christmas will be a busy time for drivers. There are already a significant number of owners of electric cars in the USA and they will definitely want to find out where they will be able to power them on the way to relatives. Of course, owners of classic cars with internal combustion engines can also try the function.

In the Waze app, they simply change their car icon to a Volkswagen ID.4 EV, even if their car is not an electric vehicle. Unfortunately, so far it only works within the USA and European users, including Slovak users, will have to wait another week for the news. In the meantime, they can use Google Maps, which displays charging stations within the application since 2019. They even have real-time station occupancy data.
