The overheating of smartphones is over. Xiaomi figured out how to cool them more efficiently

Smartphone chipsets are more powerful from year to year, but at the same time they overheat more. That’s why Xiaomi has developed Loop LiquidCool technology, which doubles cooling efficiency. We are expected to see the novelty in the smartphone for the first time in the second half of 2022, informs the GSMAren portal.

Several changes to the cooling system made a significant difference

The manufacturer explained the operation of the new technology on simple graphics. The heat from the chipset triggers the evaporation of the liquid and the newly formed hot gas travels to the condenser, where it cools and turns back into liquid. This liquid then passes into the filling chamber, which is fed to the evaporator and the whole cycle can start again.

The principle remains similar to other cooling systems, but the difference makes several significant improvements. First of all, the hot gas and the cold liquid are kept separate. Normally, the capillary that carries the liquid and the chamber through which the gas passes are in the same tube, and subsequent contact between them reduces the cooling efficiency.

The second big change is the inventor Nikola Tesla. He once devised a clever design that ensures that the liquid flows in only one direction.

Loop LiquidCool technology has shown excellent results in practice

While the introduction of the first smartphone using Loop LiquidCool technology is still a long way off, Xiaomi demonstrated its effectiveness in practice on the modified Mi Mix 4. After half an hour of playing Genshin Impact at the highest settings, it turned out that the modified model was 8.6 ° C colder than the classic Mi Mix 4.

In addition, Xiaomi claims that the design of the new technology is flexible and can be adapted to leave enough space for other components.
