The next iPhone, iPad or Mac Mx should have thinner circuit boards (IPD)

This is not the first time that the rumor of IPD PCBs (Integrated Passive Devices) returns to the table, but this time DigiTimes gives us the name suppliers involved in the production of these components, either TSMC and Amkor. IPD circuits should integrate the next generations of iPhone, iPad or Mac, which will (perhaps) have a significant impact on the autonomy of these machines.

Passive IPD printed circuits are in fact much thinner than conventional circuits, which generally makes it possible to free up space for a battery of larger size, and therefore of greater capacity. DigiTimes does not say if the iPhone 13 is affected by this change in the supply chain, but several recent rumors point to iPhone 13 with a larger battery.

The battery life of the latest iPhones being at the top of the basket in the mobile sector (many tests and comparisons show it well on YouTube), even larger batteries could really make the iPhone a champion of mobile autonomy. . Who would have believed it barely 3 years ago, when iPhones were systematically struggling on this point?
