The new notebooks can do that
At its Unpacked event, Samsung presented the new Galaxy Book 3 series in addition to the Galaxy S23 series. We have summarized the most important information for you.
Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked events are known for the company launching new smartphones, headphones or tablets. Notebooks rarely make it onto the stage. But that was it again this year.
The new Samsung Galaxy Book 3 series builds on the Galaxy Book 2 series from 2022 and expands it with an Ultra model. Four of the new laptops are also coming to Germany, which we will examine in detail.
Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Ultra: high-end laptop with a handsome price
The Galaxy Book 3 Ultra takes the Galaxy Books to a new level. The laptop comes with either the latest Intel Core i7 (13700H) or i9 (13900H) processor and in the mobile version with an RTX 4050 or 4070. The 16-inch display is equipped accordingly.
In addition to AMOLED and 120 Hertz technology, it has a resolution of 3K, shines brightly with a maximum of 500 nits and has a 16:10 aspect ratio. Especially for creative people, Samsung advertises the exact colors in the DCI-P3 color space. With Wi-Fi 6E, the laptop is also future-proof.
Unlike Apple, Samsung still installs USB-A ports (USB 3.2) and USB-C ports (Thunderbolt 4). There is also an HDMI connection, a microSD slot and a 3.5 millimeter jack connection.

The Ultra model is available with 512 gigabytes or 1 terabyte of internal SSD storage. However, this can be expanded to up to two terabytes with an additional SSD or microSD card. Depending on the model, there are 16 or 32 gigabytes of LPDDR5 RAM.
Despite a lot of hardware, the laptop is only 16.5 millimeters thick and weighs 1.79 kilograms according to the manufacturer. According to Samsung, the battery life should meanwhile amount to 17.5 hours. However, the company did not name any charges. Samsung uses Windows 11 Home as the operating system.
The laptop is integrated into the Galaxy ecosystem through its own apps. Files should be easy to copy between the Galaxy smartphone and laptop, or the Galaxy tablet can be used as a second screen. Samsung has installed a 1080p camera for video calls.
The Galaxy Book 3 Ultra is only available in the color Graphite and starts at 2799 euros.
Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Pro/360: Attack on the MacBook Air
With the Galaxy Book 3 Pro and Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 has introduced three more laptops in the Galaxy Book 3 series. Because while the Book 3 Pro comes in a 14 and a 16-inch version, the Book 3 Pro 360 is only available in a 16-inch version.

All three laptops have a 120 Hertz AMOLED display with 3K resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio. The maximum brightness is 400 nits. An Intel Core i5-340P or i7-360P is used as the CPU. Samsung installs eight or 16 gigabytes of LPDDR4X RAM and a 256 or 512 gigabyte SSD.
The Pro laptops do not have an external graphics card, but they are very thin at 11.3 and 12.5 millimeters. The weight amounts to 1.19 and 1.9 kilograms. The devices are made of aluminum and have two Thunderbolt 4, one USB-A (3.2) and two USB-C (3.2) ports. There is also an HDMI, 3.5 mm jack and microSD connection.
The display of the 360 version is also touch-enabled and can be tilted 360 degrees. So you can paint or draw with the S-Pen. Depending on the version, the Galaxy Book 3 Pro laptops are available from €1,699, the 360 version starts at €100 more. Graphite and beige are available as colors.
