A Bluetooth speaker from Bose, Sony or Bang & Olufsen is usually more expensive than the goods from the bargain counter at the discounter. Understandable, because these are also branded products that should meet certain expectations, both technically and in terms of durability. Aside from that and at the very top, there are still the price ranges that are referred to as “luxury”. It’s not so much about technology here – it’s more about prestige, about image, about statements.

The traditional Parisian manufacturer Louis Vuitton has been serving the corresponding target group for decades with handbags, clothes, suitcases – and for some time also with technology. The speaker Horizon Light Up was presented for the first time in 2021, at that time for an affordable 2,500 euros. For the new version in “a timeless, luminous silver tone” will now 3,150 euros called. The shipping costs are fortunately included. The high-tech UFO can be bought online in the Louis Vuitton shop or in the local branch (“Click & Collect”), for example in Berlin, Munich or Stuttgart. Too bad: Schorndorf and Zittau are left out here.

Horizon Light Up: Technically at the forefront

The stainless steel case with the Louis Vuitton monogram houses technology that can certainly measure up to the competition. It won’t just be like that Bluetooth 5.1 supported but also WiFi (Apple Airplay 2). The battery life is given as “up to 15 hours”. The “Louis Vuitton Connect” app (iOS and Android) is available for mobile phones, allowing the color gradients of the integrated LEDs to be adjusted.
