The Monkey King is reminiscent of fantastic shots from playing -apkrig
Exactly a year ago, we were first enchanted by the game Black Myth: Wu Kong by Chinese developers from the Game Science studio. The project, on which they have been working for many years, is strongly inspired by the novel Journey to the West and the legend of the Monkey King, which was very popular in Czechoslovakia thanks to the series of the same name. The game fascinated us – and certainly not only us – but mainly due to its technical sophistication and a very tempting combination of concepts from games such as Dark Souls or Dynasty Warriors. In addition, we could see a lot of the game over the past year, but the developers are not relentless in the supply of new footage, and as part of this nice anniversary, it brings another 12-minute demonstration, which is probably the most interesting you will see in the field of video games today. Not only do you have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of battle scenes and a disarming level of detail, but we also learn that the developers have moved to the fifth generation of Unreal Engine and, perhaps more importantly, are finally fully open to audiences in the West.
The video itself probably doesn’t make sense to describe in more detail, and something tells me that you read the second paragraph of this article exactly after 12 minutes and 44 seconds. However, it is necessary to add that in addition to Unreal Engine 5, the game will also fully support DLSS technology from Nvidia, so even with a weaker computer you have the chance to play in today’s resolution of 4K. It is not only the technical level of graphics that we really like, but also the whole artistic style from individual parts of the environment, through the main monkey hero, to the monsters themselves, which combine Asian aesthetics with a significant dose of terror and a certain dark touch, which moves Black Myth: Wu Kong to a slightly more mature level, regardless of the fabulous nature of the original. Fans also appreciate that developers are not ashamed to simply show what they are working on without lengthy speeches, and in light of some (un) recent announcements, this approach is a balm for the player’s soul. And more importantly, all the shots were shot during standard real-time gameplay, although due to the nature of the ongoing work they cannot yet represent the final form.
As for the game as such, the developers have still not set a release date. In addition, there are no clues from the project’s recently launched English website, and in the improvised Q&A section, Game Science simply says that the game will arrive when it’s ready. However, it seems that developers are currently working to optimize the game for the target platforms, which will be PCs and mainstreamové console, so the finale may not be that far. What is certain, however, is that the game will be sold as a premium title with possible DLC, or even in-game purchases. But the developers have confirmed that in this way they will never sell anything that would affect the gameplay itself, so we would expect maximum cosmetic issues, such as skins or statistics that do not affect parts of the equipment.
