The last season of the series The Last Kingdom is now on Netflix and lives up to expectations.
The first four seasons have been on Netflix for a while and many viewers can appreciate the series. As is often the case, the series is based on a book. So you could already know how the series ends, but nowadays we watch more series than we read books. Season five is now on the streaming service, unfortunately it is also the last.
The Last Kingdom on Netflix
The series is set in Great Britain. The land is overrun by murderous Vikings. The protagonist is Uthred and he is one of the heirs of the small town of Bebbanburg. His uncle has taken over there and Uthred himself is raised by Vikings. And that’s what the story is about: he has to choose between England and the Vikings, as he tries to claim his birthright.
As with many series, there have been many notable twists and turns to keep the story engaging. Now season five is online and a significant time jump has been made. This season’s episodes are set a few years after the last part of season four. There is peace between the Danes and the English, but that is about all. By the way, Edward is still king and tries to keep the peace. We won’t reveal more.
Final part
Netflix has decided this is it, there will be no sequel. Well, you never really know for sure. But it really seems to be the last season. The episodes have been online since March 9 and many people have already watched it. Many viewers are very positive. The last episode is especially appreciated.
