The Jackery solar generator 1000 Pro in the test [Anzeige]

In the summer of 2022, energy prices rose extremely. For many, this is the first step in deciding on a solar system. But not everyone has the space or the ability to mount an entire solar system. This is exactly where the Jackery solar generator 1000 Pro should help. We have the mobile solar system tested.

The fear of high energy costs or a possible blackout is increasing for many due to the pandemic, war, inflation and energy crisis. The chance of a blackout is slim and no one should panic. But having an energy store that can be used in an emergency provides security.

The Jackery solar generator 1000 Pro was originally developed for camping. With the generator and the mobile solar panels, users are no longer dependent on the power supply on campsites, but can provide for themselves for a certain period of time.

Mobile power storage: what is the Jackery Explorer 1000 Pro?

The mobile power storage Jackety Explorer 1000 Pro is like a rechargeable power bank that stores the electricity generated by solar energy. You can use the power storage to use or charge different devices. The company itself specifies various devices with the respective times for how long you can use them with the Jackery Explorer 1000 Pro:

  • Coffee machine with 550W: 1.5 hours
  • Microwave with 700W: 1.2 hours
  • Kettle with 850W: 1 hour
  • Hair dryer with 1,000W: 0.9 hours
  • Heater with 350W: 2.5 hours
  • Laptop with 65W: Load 9 times

Jackery solar generator 1000 Pro: This is how the charging process works

The mobile power storage device must therefore be charged in the first step if you want to use it to operate your devices. As already mentioned, this is possible using solar energy. You can opt for the appropriate modules fromjackery, which we will go into detail later in the article. We tested two SolarSaga 80 modules, which takes around nine hours to charge the memory.

In addition, there is also the option of charging the Jackery Explorer 1000 Pro via the normal household electricity supply. In this case, according to the company, it takes 1.8 hours for the memory to be fully charged.

Simple operation and numerous connection options

The operation of the memory is intuitive and simple. On the front is the display, which shows the current state of charge in percent in the middle. The left side shows the input, i.e. the input power in watts and the time it will probably take to fully charge. On the right side it shows the output, i.e. the output power that the memory is currently delivering to devices. And directly below, how long the storage is likely to continue to supply electricity.

On the back are the different connection options. No savings were made here, there are two 230V sockets, two USB-C ports (with Quick Charge 3.0) and two USB-A ports as well as a 12V car connection.

The mobile memory has a rated output of 1,000 watts. How long you can use the electricity depends on the performance of your connected devices. The memory should support up to 1,000 loading cycles. It is very practical for transport due to its low weight of 11.5 kg and the foldable handle. In addition, an LED light with three brightness levels is attached to the device itself, which provides brightness when camping or when there is a power failure.

Jackery SolarSaga 80W solar panel: power from solar energy

In addition to the solar generator 1000 Pro, we have two Jackery SolarSaga 80W solar panels tested. These are mobile solar modules that can be set up anywhere – even if you have little space. The big advantage of the Jackery solar panels is the solar efficiency through double-sided panels that generate electricity from both sides.

Extra white glass (with 92% transmittance) is used on the back, which is said to improve power generation efficiency by 25 percent. In addition, the transport bag was specially developed to generate even more solar energy through reflection. It has adjustable straps that allow you to customize the angle of reflection to generate as much solar energy as possible.

The panels are suitable for outdoor use. They are waterproof, dustproof and even certified against many weather conditions. The SolarSaga 80W solar panels are compatible with all Jackery storage systems. You can connect up to twelve of the modules at the same time.

The installation of the Jackery SolarSaga 80W solar panels is quick and uncomplicated: The panels are packed directly in the reflective transport bags. On the back is the stand and the cable. We were particularly impressed by the very high quality. From the delivery to the packaging to the processing of the products:jackery values good quality.
