The iPhone 14 Pro would increase to 8 GB of RAM
Apple could go up a notch with the iPhone 14 Pro since the smartphone would be entitled to 8 GB of RAM. Never has an iPhone been entitled to so much RAM.
8 GB of RAM for the iPhone 14 Pro?
Information about 8 GB of RAM for the iPhone 14 comes from leaker Yeux1122 at Naver. He affirms that Apple has decided this quantity for the RAM and has warned its suppliers so that they can prepare for production in order to have a substantial volume. Besides, the schedule for mass production would accelerate.
Yeux1122 previously reported that Apple plans to launch an iPad mini 6 in the second half of 2021 with an 8.7-inch screen and a chassis that has been increased in width and reduced in height compared to the iPad mini 5. If the screen size was inaccurate, with the sixth-generation iPad mini eventually having an 8.3-inch screen, the rumored chassis and launch schedule turned out to be correct.
This is actually not the first time that we have heard of an increased amount of RAM for the iPhone 14 Pro. Analyst Jeff Pu had already mentioned the 8 GB.
By comparison, the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max have 6GB of RAM. The iPhone 13 and 13 mini are entitled to 4 GB for their part. It is currently unclear if the non-Pro iPhone 14s will stay with this amount or if they will increase to 6 GB for example.
