Car crash detection involved
Deployed in the latest version of Apple’s smartphone, a tool linked to AI allows the automatic call for help in the event of collision detection or a traffic accident. To work, it takes into account the movements as well as the speed of movement of the device. If it is therefore thrown in all directions, suddenly and quickly, the system will interpret this as a barrel roll.
What also goes very fast and in all directions? Roller coasters ! Since the release of the iPhone 14, 911 has received several calls of the Apple Emergency Assistant, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. The detector, extremely sensitive, contacted the emergency services indicating the imminent risk for the user.

A tool still in beta
Also present on the latest Google Pixels as well as the Apple Watch, this feature still requires some improvements to be fully functional.
For now, when the smartphone detects a potential accident, a message is displayed accompanied by an audible signal, giving the user a few seconds to confirm his situation. If there is no response, the device informs the emergency services of the location of the user, indicating an emergency situation.

Apple says it is working to improve the feature. For the moment, for lack of anything better, you will have to switch to airplane mode at the entrance to the attraction so as not to alert the emergency services!
At the service of your safety
If the feature is not yet well known, it has been on the market since 2019 with Google’s Pixel 4. In the Android version, it fits into the heart of a security cocoon, also including the emergency call by pressing a button, the automatic display of personal information (blood group, relatives to contact, etc.) in the event of ‘incident…
While Google plans to roll out the feature to other Android devices, Apple hasn’t yet announced plans to add it to earlier iPhone versions.
