The Huawei P50 series is coming. It offers not only exceptional cameras

After months of speculation and waiting, Huawei has finally introduced the new Huawei P50 series. It includes two models – Huawei P50 a Huawei P50 Pro. No Pro Plus version, as it was last year, is taking place this year. We can look forward to top equipment, but many can stop absence of support for 5G networks.

Let’s start with the most interesting, which are undoubtedly the cameras of both phones. Leica is still in charge of them and the telephoto lens has been improved. We’ll get to him in a moment. Both phones have the same main sensor, which is a 50MPx lens with a 23mm focal length, f / 1.8 aperture and there is also optical image stabilization. It is also here 13MPx ultra-wide sensor with 13mm focal length and f / 2.2 aperture. Laser autofocus also helps both sensors.

The Huawei P50 Pro also offers 40MPx black and white sensor with 23mm focal length and f / 1.6 aperture. We are especially curious about that. And of course we also get to the telephoto lens. He has a focal length of 90 mm and a resolution of 64 MPx, which is really a lot for a telephoto lens. It also has optical stabilization and has an aperture of f / 3.5. The standard variant also has a telephoto lens, which boasts a 125mm focal length, 12MPx resolution, f / 3.4 aperture and also optical stabilization. The novelty is technology XD Fusion Pro, thanks to which the phone emits twice as much light as the Huawei P40 Pro and also improves the dynamic range by 28%.

As for video, both phones offer 4K video, 8K is unfortunately not available and slow motion shots are then able to shoot in Full HD resolution at 960 fps. The Huawei P50 Pro will be sold with both the Kirin 9000 chipset and the flagship Snapdragon 888, however, both offer only 4G connectivity and 5G is not available. They can be assisted by either 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128/256/512 GB of storage.

What about displays? Huawei P50 Pro offers curved 6.6 ″ OLED panel with a resolution of 2700 x 1225 pixels, HDR support and 120Hz refresh rate. He then got the basic model 6.5 ″ OLED panel with the same resolution, however “only” 90Hz refresh rate.

The basic variant will be sold only with Snapdragon in combination with 8 GB RAM and 128 / 256GB memory. Of course, we can also count on the system HarmonyOS 2.0. As for the battery, we can count on 4,360mAh for the Pro variant, the basic model then has a 4,100mAh battery. Both phones support 66W wired and 50W wireless charging. They are a matter of course stereo speakers or IP68 certification. The Huawei P50 Pro starts at around 20,000 crowns and will be available in August. The basic version did not come until September, with customers paying for the basic model in China about 15,000 crowns.
