The Huawei P40 series of smartphones receives a December security patch

Chinese company Huawei brings December security patch to its other smartphones. According to the portal HuaweiCentral they are the flagship models of the series Huawei P40.

The update brings up to two security patches

The manufacturer introduced the updated Huawei P40 series smartphones in March 2020. The update is numbered 11.0.0.246 and a size of 584 MB. It is currently distributed in European countries, including Slovakia. The system is still in EMUI version 11. The update contains two installation packages. The first contains the November security patch of the system and the second December.

How to install the update?

Download via Settings:

• Open up Settings
• Click on System and updates
• Open the item Software update
• Click on the option Check for updates
• If a new update is available, click Download and install
• Restart the device after installation

Download via My Huawei:

• Open the My Huawei application on your device
• Go to the section Update
• Follow the instructions on the screen

Before installation, make sure that your smartphone battery is at least 70% charged.

How is the competition?

Samsung’s competitors also bring updates for their smartphones. For example, the beta program Android 12 for the OnePlus 8 series models was recently launched. Other updated smartphones are POCO F3 or Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite.
