The Honor Magic 3 marks the brand’s return to the market
The Honor Magic 3 comes out of the hat of the brand. After a few years of food shortages, the Chinese firm is taking care of its communication around its next range of smartphones intended to arrive in Europe.
The few years of food shortages seem to be a thing of the past for Honor. The company has been a collateral victim of the conflict between Huawei and the United States. During a conference held this Thursday, August 12, the brand has just unveiled its brand new range of phones. The Honor Magic 3, its Pro version and the Pro Plus version. Three products came out of the company’s hat, first for the Chinese market and perhaps also for Europe.

The Honor Magic 3 series springs from beyond the grave
Until then, the Magic range was exclusive to the Chinese market. But the independence of the firm vis-à-vis Huawei has gone through this and the plans have been revised. The range of Honor Magic 3 is ambitious with three devices directly oriented high-end. The opportunity for the company to reconnect with what made its success: Artificial Intelligence.
The range is first of all the very first to adopt the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus processors. No more Kirin processors, the company trusts the American founder and his star chip to take care of the animation. The help of Artificial Intelligence for animation will be omnipresent. The performance of Magic 3 smartphones is even enhanced by the OS Turbo X. This software aims to prioritize the power of the chip according to the applications requested on the smartphone. It promises ease of use and performance comparable to iOS.
When it comes to performance on charge, smartphones are powered by a 4600 mAh battery. For its charging cover, Honor has chosen to place a compatibility with fast charging. They support 66W SuperCharge as well as 55W wireless charging. The quality of the refill will of course be tested in every way. And of course all are delivered under Android.
Honor returns with its good old recipes
Artificial Intelligence is not the only asset of these Honor Magic 3. It is put at the service of photography, which is also very sophisticated on the range. So far, some discrepancies are to be noted on the two smartphones.
Both smartphones have the following basis:
- A 50 Megapixel Wide Camera with 23mm focal length
- A 64 megapixel monochrome camera
- A 16 megapixel Ultra wide angle
The Pro version also has a 64 megapixel Telephoto to complete the set. An 8 × 8 TOF is also available. Both smartphone models see their cameras placed in a circle on the back of the smartphone. The performances of Artificial Intelligence will make it possible to sublimate the clichés.
The design is once again very neat on both phones with an 89 degree icurved screen. The whole series is IP 68 certified. Regarding the interface, these are 6.76-inch Flex OLED panels with also adaptive refreshing of 120 Hz.
An Honor Magic 3 Pro Plus to enhance the performance of the range
We thought the conference was over, but Honor had an asset up its sleeve: a Pro Plus version. A smartphone much more worked in the aspect of its design but not only. In all areas, the Plus version brings a little more in terms of innovation, starting with the photo. The configuration sets up 512 GB of storage for 12 GB of RAM. Once again, the Snapdragon 888 Plus chip takes care of the animation. This is a more prestigious version but above all more powerful.
Price and availability of Magic 3, Magic 3 Pro and Magic 3 Pro Plus
The three smartphones are destined for Europe with three different prices.
- The Magic 3 with 8 + 256 GB at 899 euros
- The Magic 3 Pro with 8 + 256 GB at 1099 euros
- The Magic 3 Pro Plus with 12 + 512 GB at 1499 euros
At the time of writing, the manufacturer has not yet specified a possible release date.
