The fraud abusing Slovenská pošta continues

Fraudsters are clearly doing well, using the same trick for a few months now with a slight variation. They send SMS messages or e-mails under the heading of Slovenská pošta that you have a package and that you should pay for it. The scam is still going on, be careful. The source of the report is the official website of Hoax and the Slovak Police fraud on Facebook.

Fraud under the heading of Slovenská pošta: They demand to pay smaller amounts

They will let you know through a pofider message that contains a special shortcut. Most attentive people will raise their eyebrows here because they will know that something is wrong. The link in the SMS message then redirects you through several other links (one of which is the website of a Croatian dentist). You will then end up at a complicated address containing thickness (slovenslka-posta.live/sk).

Other errors on the website are, for example: marking the “expiration date” for the field that asks you for the card expiration date, malfunction of other buttons on the page (eMail Services, My e-Mail). A warning signal is also that their “payment gateway” accepts any card number (true they only accept in known formats for Visa, MasterCard cards). After entering the data, the page will go to another, which asks for the SMS code that should have come to you.

As this is a hoax, it is likely that you will not receive any SMS code. In addition, they just got your card information. In addition, Pravá Slovenská pošta does not charge any fees via SMS messages or e-mails. All are paid at the couriers or at the post office.

You, the readers, also write to us

… That you also received similar SMS messages. Even with another link that leads to a different fraudulent page (picture below). This scam seems to be widespread.

Interestingly, this fraudulent page has a Cancel button that will take you to the payment gateway anyway. This payment gateway is already genuine or tailor-made and will not take you to the next step after entering false data.
