With the Samsung Galaxy A3, the first device in the new A series was announced. The brand presented the A-series as mid-end devices with a premium appearance. We saw that with the Samsung Galaxy A3, which was released at the end of 2014. The phone had a metal housing, just like the other two devices that were released at the time; the Galaxy A5 and the Galaxy A7. We even tested the phone in 2015 in the Samsung Galaxy A3 review.

Samsung described the device as a device with an ultra-thin design and with which you could make optimal use of social media. According to the Korean manufacturer, it was an excellent device for style-conscious young people. The Galaxy A3 was only 6.9 millimeters thin, which is very thin for a smartphone. Samsung also managed to promote the 5 megapixel front camera for the most beautiful selfies, where you could use various functions to realize a lively selfie with the device. The smartphone was equipped with 4G support and available in the colors black, white, pink, gold and light blue.

The Samsung Galaxy A3 had a 4.5 inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. In addition, the phone was equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset, a quad-core processor that was assisted by 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. There was an 8 megapixel camera for taking photos and you could also use the phone with NFC, Bluetooth and WiFi. The 1900 mAh battery of the Galaxy A3 was not interchangeable and of course there was no question of fast charging. Samsung delivered the device with Android 4.4 KitKat, which kept the device up to and including Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

There was also criticism of the device, as the screen was equipped with a fairly low resolution. In addition, the price was relatively high for the smartphone. In the Netherlands, the phone came on the market for an amount of approximately 300-340 euros.
