The engaging cyberpunk adventure Encodya -apkrig is published

After about three years of development, the small Italian studio Chaosmonger has completed its cyberpunk adventure Encodya, which will take players to Neo Berlin in 2062. Instead of an action story with a traditional hero or heroine, a personal story of only 9-year-old orphaned girl Tina guard marked SAM-53. From his hiding place on the roof of one of the skyscrapers, he goes out into the streets every day to find food and other equipment that helps them survive, but everything changes the moment Tina finds out more about her late father and decides to finish what worked – to save the world from uniformity and the suffering of dystopia.

As mentioned in the introduction, Chaosmnoger did not choose the cyberpunk theme in the first place – the game has been worked on for the past few years and the game also tested the interest of fans on Kickstarter. In the campaign in 2019, they demanded 27,000 euros, while in the final, thanks to the support of 603 fans, they raised less than 47,000. The comments were overwhelmingly positive and positively assessed not only the cyberpunk setting, but above all the distinctive art style, detailed animation and also the level of dubbing. As project designer Nicola Piovesan states, the point was to combine the aesthetics of Ghibli’s films with the visual expression of Blade Runner and the humor of Monkey Island, which – judging by the pictures – succeeded.

In addition, the game is a real adventure of a classic style, ie not only enriched by a full-fledged story, but also by a pile of puzzles, hidden places and allegedly a lot of Easter eggs.

On more than 100 dynamic screens, you can watch three-dimensional characters with detailed animation and your own dubbing, of which there should be more than thirty. In total, the developers have written and implemented over 5,000 lines of dialogues, and it should take about eight hours to complete the game. In addition, the game is a real adventure of a classic style, ie not only enriched by a full-fledged story, but also a pile of puzzles, hidden places and allegedly a lot of Easter eggs. One finish should not unlock all the content, especially in terms of branching dialogues, but due to the genre setting, it is probably not possible to talk about too high a replayability. Last but not least, the developers also point to the music component with its own soundtrack and sounds, which were given a lot of space in the cutscenes.

The price of the game was set at 25 euros, but in the introductory discount on Steam or GOG, it can be purchased with a 20% discount until February 2. In addition to the standard edition, there is also a special one with an artbook, soundtrack, wallpaper and also making of video, which costs ten euros more. As for the ratings, there are only a handful of them on Steam so far, but they are all positive, which is underlined by the verdict of the first major medium, namely 8/10 from the Italian magazine Multiplayer.it.
