Yoshida sees communication as the biggest obstacle in development, which is hampered by the need to work from home, which should lead to delays in the delivery of individual components from external suppliers and, in some extreme cases, their deletion or, better said, non-inclusion. “We spent most of 2021 solving these problems, trying to reduce their impact to a minimum,” says the producer positively, listing the areas that his team will now focus on. It is an overall improvement of the graphics, reworking of the fights, highlighting of important encounters, the final improvement of the cutscenes and, last but not least, the overall optimization of the game. “Our primary goal is to spend as much time with the game as possible to ensure that it is as tight as it can be,” says Naoki Yoshida in conclusion, giving some hope that the game could actually arrive in next year.
However, the release date has so far only been speculated, although the people from Sony, on whose console Final Fantasy XVI is aiming, have provided clues. Valisthea 06:16 will appear very briefly in an advertisement from September this year at approximately 0:38, which the players translated as the release date of the new Final Fantasy on June 16, 2022.
