The Czech apka and virtual currency protect nature in an original way
When the term “cryptocurrency” is mentioned, a large part of the public imagines Bitcoin in particular. Or maybe other well-known names of these modern virtual currencies. The vast majority of them have one thing in common – they are non-ecological and leave a large one carbon footprint, as their “extraction” consumes at least a large amount of electricity. That it actually goes the other way around is demonstrated, among other things Czech project CO2INwhose currency and applications can be described as “green”.
They are a key element of the whole idea European emission allowances, which are commonly bought in bulk by power plants or other industrial enterprises as an “indulgence” for air pollution with CO2, ie carbon dioxide. Through the application of CO2IN, it is possible to buy these allowances, which has a double effect. The user thus indirectly contributes to projects aimed at environmental protection and fewer allowances remain for polluters. It’s just a tiny piece in a huge jigsaw puzzle, but at least for a good feeling you can try the application.
CO2IN – Change climate on your phone
A virtual currency using CO2 puns and the word COIN associated with this activity is can also be used as regular currency. The number of merchants who accept it is constantly growing. The original and still valid mission of the project and the application was also to spread awareness about the permits and the general carbon footprint of each person.
