The craziest games of the Summer Game Fest: Goat Simulator 3, Anger Foot, What the Bat?, etc.
the Summer Game Fest 2022 has already unveiled its share of expected headlines, but also, and fortunately, some very crazy nuggets that remind us that humor and imagination often form an explosive cocktail. So here are the trailers of the craziest, original and funniest games that await us in the coming months.
Coffee Stain Studios is skipping (sheep) Opus 2 and going straight to Goat Simulator 3, the revered goat simulator (but isn’t a goat revered by definition?). the trailer sets the tone, even if we would have liked to see a little gameplay. Goat Simulator 3 will be released on PC, Xbox Series and PS5 next fall.
Anger Football, it’s the FPS “with big blows of kick in your face”, by the studio at the origin of the very releasing Gorn (VR). Atmosphere of furious madness for this title published by Devolver in which we get off at the same time as the enemies (but not with the same consequences). To top it off, the cartoon-style art direction is absolutely irresistible. Anger Foot will be released on PC in 2023.
Choo-Choo Charles is a particularly crazy survival horror. The player finds himself at the controls of a locomotive spinning through tortured scenery with a loco-spider straight out of hell on his heels. The game will be coming to PC later this year.
What the Bat? is a VR game in which the player will participate in a series of mini-games, all of which have the particularity of requiring the use of one or more baseball bats. Drawing with a bat, making foam in the water with a bat, playing pinball with a bat, everything is possibleā¦ except kicking a baseball (probably too easy). This totally crazy game will be released on SteamVR and Meta Quest 2 later this year.
Cult of the Lamb is a roguelite-oriented dungeon-crawler published by Devolver (again!). So far so good, but wait until you read the pitch: the players will indeed lead a lamb saved from sacrifice who decides to set up his own sect in order to pay a debt! Crazy, but not as much as the overexcited atmosphere of the gameplay, which is reminiscent of Binding Isaac on acid. Cult of the Lamb will be released on August 11 on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC.
Designed by Ewoud Van Der Werf (with support from Extra Nice studio), Schim is a puzzle game gameplay very original. The player directs Schim, a small creature that can only move from shadow to shadow. On this simple principle, the game adds levels of complexity and inventiveness: the shadows can be moving (that of a jogger) and the playing area can be rotated as in FEZ in order to open new shaded paths. The DA ultra stylized and in 4 colors by levels turns out absolutely flawless. Barredā¦ and stylish. Will release it one day on PC, Xbox One and Series, PS4, PS5 and Switch.
Fall Guys is not new but its upcoming reboot in free-to-play and on the Xbox Series platforms remains a small event. The little guys from Mediatonic beat the reminder of their battle royale-party game with a live-action trailer that captures the crazy and benevolent atmosphere of the title. Fall Guys free-to-play will be released on all platforms (and therefore on Xbox Series) on June 21.
