iPadOS 17 has been announced

On June 5, Apple unveiled iPadOS 17 during WWDC 2023. In the new iPadOS version, interactive widgets come to your iPad, so you no longer have to open an app every time to perform small tasks. In addition, it is possible to create different profiles in Safari, so that you can better keep work and private life separate in the browser.

In iPadOS 17, Apple has mainly focused on improving existing tasks. Editing PDF files will soon be easier and Stage Manager will be improved. In iPadOS 17 we see many functions coming to the iPad that we already knew from iOS 16. For example, the lock screen of your iPad in particular gets quite a few functions in iPadOS 17.

Personalize your iPad’s lock screen

In iOS 16, the lock screen of the iPhone already received a major update. Now it’s the turn of the iPad, because from iPadOS 17 it is possible to set widgets on the lock screen of your tablet. Think of widgets of the calendar, Reminders or the weather. iPadOS 17 also supports Live Activities, allowing you to keep track of various activities from the lock screen. This way you can see the score of a match or all active timers.

In iPadOS 17 you also get the choice of which clock you want to set on your lock screen. This was already possible on your iPhone and is now also possible on the iPad. Setting a background is also slightly more extensive, Live Photos can then be selected as wallpaper. You can also play this in slow motion for a very cool effect.
