The blue tick is also subject to a fee in Germany
Meta is now rolling out its premium subscription Verified in Germany. With that, the free blue tick for verifying accounts could soon be a thing of the past.
Shortly after taking over Twitter, Elon Musk decided to make verification on his platform a paid subscription in the future. The blue tick should now only be available for a fee.
An idea that apparently also liked Mark Zuckerberg. As early as February, the Meta boss announced that he wanted to introduce a similar subscription model for his social networks.
As a result, Meta Verified had already started in the USA, and now the subscription model is to gradually come to Germany.

Meta Verified starts in Germany
Meta has started rolling out its premium subscription Verified in Germany. The payment option is already being played out for some users on the platforms of the US group. Still others have to be content with a waiting list or don’t even see Verified in their account.
If you opt for the premium subscription, you have to shell out 16.99 euros per month. Please note above all that a subscription is only valid for one platform from Meta. For example, if you want to benefit from the Verified advantages on Facebook and Instagram, you also have to take out two subscriptions.
Here’s how to find Verified on your Instagram account
If you are one of the users for whom Meta Verified is already being played, you will find the settings in the Instagram app.
To do this, navigate to your profile. Instagram may even prompt you to “get a verification badge” in a pop-up at the top of the screen.
If you don’t see this message in your profile, you can also take out a subscription via the settings. To do this, open the menu in your profile and click on “Meta Verified”.
Alternatively, you can also access the subscription via the settings. Click on “Account Overview” and navigate to “Meta Verified”.
This is how you verify yourself for your verification
If you want to subscribe, you have to some prerequisites fulfill. Verifications are only issued to companies or users who are at least 18 years old. Also, Meta will only accept your account if you have two-factor authentication enabled and have already posted.
To confirm your identity, you need a video selfie and government-issued ID. This information is then matched to your profile.
Therefore, you must also enter your full name in your profile. A profile picture showing your face is also required.
This is what Meta Verified offers you
For the monthly fee of 16.99 euros, you not only get a blue tick behind your profile name. Subscribers can also use individual stickers.
Meta also wants to offer increased account protection with the subscription. Thanks to productive identity monitoring, users have less to worry about identity misuse, according to Meta.
You should also receive faster answers from support for the subscription. However, this is currently only available in a few languages, including German, English, French and Spanish.
