Android in November
In the penultimate month of the year, we presented our DroidApp Awards 2020 at DroidApp. Here you will find the ten best smartphones from different segments. Google came up with important news; it stops with the unlimited free storage space. In addition, there is a real risk that 220 million websites will be inaccessible on Android devices by 2021.
OnePlus announced in November that it will add 7 new functions to OxygenOS. At Poco, the Poco M3 was presented, while Motorola took the curtain off the Moto E7, as did the Moto G9 Power and Moto G 5G. At Nokia we saw the new 6300 4G and 8000 4G. Oppo presented a smartphone with a retractable screen and the favorably priced Oppo A15. Honor was sold by Huawei to hopefully bypass US sanctions.

The best apps
As you are used to from us, we list the best applications of the past month every month. These are apps that we covered in that month. For example, because they have received an update, because they are new or because they are simply worth mentioning. You can find them below, in no particular order.
Walpy
We wrote about wallpaper app Walpy in November. This minimalist application is provided with a large number of backgrounds that you can immediately set as wallpaper on your smartphone or tablet. You can also set the background to be automatically adjusted every so often and of course there is a handy search function.
MeowTalk
Always wondering what the cat is saying to you? This month we wrote about MeowTalk, an application we described as the Shazam for cat meow. This way you know immediately whether the cat is hungry or has something else to say. Because the application is still in beta, the app may not be quite right, but it is precisely with the feedback from users that the results should be even more reliable.
Google Messages (RCS)
Since this month, thanks to Google, we can use RCS in the messaging app. It can be seen as the successor to SMS and shows, for example, when the other is typing, you can send stickers and sending images is also possible. We give you all the explanation in the article about RCS in the Netherlands.
PostNL
The PostNL app is nowadays, where we order online more often, perhaps more important than ever. The development department of the postal company knows this too, and is therefore constantly releasing new features to the Android app. In the past month, users saw three new features return. New is the handy PostNL widget, with which you can immediately see whether a package is on its way. Also new is the dark theme and last night a new update was released with an Easter Egg game.
NOVA releases
The NOVA app from Nationale Nederlanden should help you gain insight into your finances. It is also free to download for everyone and can securely link your checking account to the application. Fixed costs such as insurance can be automatically placed in a category, so that you also get clear insight into this. The functionality will be further expanded in the future.
In November, WhatsApp added several new features to the Android app. First of all, there is the new cleaning aid. This gives you direct access to an overview of which conversations take up the most storage space on your device. From there you can also immediately start freeing up space by deleting unnecessary files. Also new is the function called ‘Messages with due date’. You can enable or disable this per chat. When enabled, messages are automatically cleared up to 7 days, which can save some space.
Traffix
Need some relaxation? Then this game may be less suitable. The game Traffix we wrote about in November lets you control traffic; think of highways in Paris or other world cities. You operate the traffic lights, but keep in mind that motorists also want to continue driving and that it can just take too long before the light turns green. A special Chaos mode will make you sweat even more.
