Android in Dec
We shared the necessary specials and beautiful overviews with you in the month of December. But more happened this month. We have again seen the necessary news about unannounced devices. Think of the new OnePlus 11, of which we were also shown the contents of the sales package. Samsung’s Galaxy S23 also appeared in the news several times.
Furthermore, WhatsApp no longer works on dozens of different devices. We also learned that sharing your Netflix account will definitely end in 2023. Oppo announced its new update policy and if it is up to the EU, there will be a return of the removable battery in smartphones. Xiaomi was also there with news, showing off the new MIUI 14 skin to the public.
Google released the overview ‘Year in Search 2022’, with which we immediately see which trends there were in the past year. Spotify’s annual overview was also published, containing the hits of the past year. The year also starts more expensive for customers of T-Mobile, Simpel and Ben. The inflation correction causes a significant price increase at the three providers.

BeReal
Twitter was once established as a platform for sharing what was on your mind at the time. That doesn’t seem to be Twitter’s main goal anymore. BeReal could perhaps take over this baton. The purpose of this application is that at any time, once every 24 hours, you will be asked what you are doing. You then take a photo with both the front and rear camera, with which you share it with your friends. Of course you can also view the activities of your friends with BeReal.
Telegram
Messaging service Telegram regularly releases updates, and those updates are often provided with a lot of new functions. We have also seen this in the past month. The updates to Telegram 9.2 and Telegram 9.3 have been released. This added a lot of new features. For example, you can now set up a global auto-delete, create a temporary QR code to share your account, and use the new media spoiler. From now on you also have an even faster view of the used storage space in Telegram and you can free up memory faster.
ProtonDrive
You already know Proton from the mail service, but the Swiss company also has a solution for (online) storage of your files. With Proton Drive you can store your files securely. Until this month, the service only worked via the web version, but now there is also the Proton Drive app. The operation is comparable to, for example, Google Drive. With Proton Drive, files are stored securely using end-to-end encryption.
GoodLock
Since December we have been able to download the Good Lock app in the Netherlands and Belgium. It is an application for those who have a Samsung Galaxy device. You can download it from the Galaxy Store. With the application you can personalize even more things and put even more to your own liking. Think of the design and shapes of the navigation bar, or the notification bar. You can also get started with personalizing other things in the interface of your device.
WhatsApp has added several new features in the past month. Users are given the option to create WhatsApp Avatars, which we have published an extensive explanation about. You can make these completely your own so that they look the most like you. When you have it ready, you can set the avatar as your profile picture, but you can also share it with your friends as a sticker. In December, the WhatsApp development team also made some design changes to the interface, which in turn has to do with the availability of WhatsApp Communities.
