The best iPhone apps from last week
Apple’s App Store works overtime every week. New apps, updates for existing applications and games are constantly appearing. You probably won’t notice this, because most of the programs are not worth downloading. iPhoned therefore separates the wheat from the chaff every Sunday. These are the best iOS apps, updates and games from the past week.
1. Serania: Path of the Scion
Do you love stories and don’t get intimidated by a lot of text? Then you probably can’t have fun with Serania: Path of the Scion. This game mainly consists of reading text and making decisions by choosing one of the answers. The story unfolds based on your choices. Speaking of which, Serania takes place in a fantasy world taken over by enemy armies.
You take on the role of an ordinary villager who is hunted by these soldiers. As if that wasn’t tough enough, you also try to find out your family history. Only in this way can you do something about the siege of your country. You can try the game for free, but have to pull the wallet after the first quarter (4.49 euros).
2. Procreate
Procreate, the award-winning iPad graphic design app, made the switch to iPhone last week. This way you can also draw, illustrate and design on your phone. The developer has thoroughly overhauled the interface so that all buttons and options fit on the smaller screen.
The iPhone version of Procreate does much the same as its bigger brother for the iPad. The developer has added some specific functions for the iPhone. including a widget for iOS 14. That way you can open Procreate right from your iPhone home screen.

3. TechniCalc
Do you work a lot with numbers professionally, or do you follow a technical study? TechniCalc is a new math calculator app that is filled to the brim with functions. For example, the app can handle extensive formulas, logarithms, trigonometry and all kinds of units and ratios.
Moreover, the app looks very stylish and can handle a wireless keyboard. A nice extra is that TechniCalc works on all your Apple products, including Apple Watch. In addition, the app has a dark mode, split-screen mode (so that you place the calculator on the right of the window, for example) and many more functions.

4. Oolong
Do you want to get a better grip on your finances in 2021? Then Oolong might be recommended. This ‘housekeeping app’ describes itself as the most efficient of its kind and tries to provide a global insight into your wallet.
Where other housekeeping apps go into specific categories very precisely, Oolong provides a more global overview. The purpose of the app is to show at a glance whether you can afford that new apartment, pet or vacation. The app does this by calculating your monthly deficit or surplus and spreading this number over the next 24 months.
