Download and install Netflix games
Netflix now has several games that you can play. You don’t play the games in the Netflix app, but you must first download and install them before you get started. Before you start downloading, you need the following.
- An iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad with iOS 15 or later
- An active subscription to Netflix
- Plenty of free space on your device
This is how you find the games
It is sometimes a bit difficult to find the games in the Netflix app. For example, there is no special tab with the games (yet). The Netflix games can be found on the homepage of your profile, and are a bit tucked away between the movies and series. Below you can read how you can easily find and install the games.
Download and install Netflix games
- Open the Netflix app and tap “Home”;
- Scroll down until you see the row with ‘Netflix Games’;
- Tap the desired game and then tap ‘Download game’;
- Choose ‘Download’ or tap the cloud icon;
- The game will be downloaded and installed on your iPhone or iPad;
- When the installation is complete, you can start the game from the Netflix app or from the home screen of your iOS device.
Sometimes you have to log in again after step 6 with the Netflix account information. Note: Netflix games are not visible in kids profiles.
Install Netflix games from the App Store
The Netflix games can also be downloaded from the App Store. You do this in the following way.
- Open the App Store and search for ‘Netflix inc’;
- Tap “Netflix, Inc.” under the heading developer;
- All Netflix games now appear under the ‘Apps and games’ heading;
- Tap ‘Download’ or the ‘cloud icon’;
- The game will be downloaded and installed.
Apple Arcade: Apple’s ‘Netflix’ for games
At the moment, the range of downloadable games on Netflix is rather meager. A big advantage is that you don’t need an extra subscription to play the games. In addition, the games have no ads. In that respect, this is very similar to Apple Arcade, Apple’s game service.
You won’t find any movies in Apple Arcade, but the range of games is a lot larger. For an amount of 4.99 euros per month you get access to more than 200 games, without advertising or in-app purchases. The games can be played on your iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV.
