That’s a good start: 5 delicious breakfast tips

Whether it’s the weekend and you have plenty of time, or a weekday where it’s mainly rushing: a good breakfast is always important to start the day nutritious and full of energy. And it doesn’t have to be complicated at all.

A good breakfast is essential, especially for school-aged children. For example, it is much more difficult to concentrate on an empty stomach. Yet a quarter of the children do not or hardly get enough nutritious breakfast. Because Blue Band considers this important, the brand for growing children is launching the ‘Smeer een Broodje Doneer’ campaign with which you, by buying a tub of Blue Band, contribute to breakfast for all children. That also includes a lick of margarine, because it contains important nutrients for breakfast. But what can you make with Blue Band? These tips will help you on your way. By the way, you can make a few breakfasts the night before – you’ll have plenty of time in the morning to eat everything.

Classic with a twist

The smell, the taste, the creaminess… few things can compare to a croissant. It’s already delicious straight out of the hand, but give it an upgrade with some delicious toppings. Of course you start with a good lick of margarine, and then top it with strawberry slices and – come on, because you can – a handful of chocolate sprinkles. Trust us: it will certainly not stop with that one croissant.

All you can eat

Ha, that’s original, sushi made of bread. Plus: really tasty and much easier to make than the original variant with rice. Take a few white slices of bread, cut off the crusts and roll the bread completely flat with a rolling pin. Now cut the bread lengthwise into two strips. Spread with margarine, place a slice of chicken fillet and 1/8 of a cucumber in strips. Now roll up the bread, prick it with a skewer and you’re done. Of course this is just an example, you can also make sushi with cheese and pepper strips.

Egg cake deluxe

Perhaps not part of a standard breakfast, but nice to alternate with – even if only during Sunday breakfast. You can easily upgrade an egg cake with a layer of margarine. Simple, but oh so tasty. If you want to make even more of it, margarine naturally also serves as a ‘glue’ for other toppings, such as chocolate sprinkles, mice or finely chopped nuts.

All colors of the rainbow

The beautiful colors alone make you hungry for a rainbow sandwich. Tasty, easy and healthy, because you use vegetables in different colors. Spread a good layer of margarine on a slice of bread and top with different colored vegetables from left to right. Cut a cucumber, carrot, radish and red bell pepper into strips and your rainbow is ready – bet it will be gone in no time?

Lubricate = Donate

So enough inspiration. Because eating a nutritious breakfast is so important, Blue Band would like to contribute to this. Now that they’ve been around for a hundred years this year, they’re coming up with that awesome ‘Smeer een Broodje Doneer’ campaign. It works simply: every 500 gram Blue Band tub sold contributes to the donation of a total of 100,000 breakfasts to the National School Breakfast (NSO)*, for children in need.

The campaign is therefore fully in line with NSO’s motto, which is: ‘every child is healthy
breakfast every day. In short: by simply spreading Blue Band on your sandwich yourself, you and your family are helping other children. In this way you can contribute to ensuring that children get enough essential fats and good nutrients for a healthy and active life. And that feels good, right?
