iPhone 14 camera lenses are made by Sunny Optical
The launch of the iPhone 14 series is approaching, and the flagship spearhead will be the new camera. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports that Apple mainly focuses on one supplier with regard to lenses for wide-cameras.

Supplier iPhone 14 lenses
The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are rumored to have an impressive camera module. They are said to be equipped with a 48-megapixel camera. Many of these lenses are supplied by a supplier with a sunny name: Sunny Optical.
“Sunny Optical is the largest supplier of wide-angle 7P lenses for the iPhone 14 series,” Kuo wrote on his Twitter channel. With the high-end lens of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, 50 to 60 percent of the 7P lenses are said to be manufactured by Sunny Optical. With the 7P lens of the cheaper iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max, the supplier’s share is 55 to 65 percent.
Camera with 48 (!) megapixels
We’ve known for a while that the iPhone 14 will get impressive improvements to the camera. That’s especially true for the two flagships: the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. They will soon be able to shoot photos with no less than 48 megapixels. This applies to the wide-angle camera. The other two camera lenses (ultra-wide angle and telephoto) will probably still only shoot 12 megapixels.
The more megapixels a camera has, the more information is squeezed into a photo. A lens with 48 megapixels should therefore provide sharper and more detailed photos. This makes an iPhone photo more suitable for printing on a large format.
The condition is that the lighting conditions are good, because more megapixels also has a disadvantage. The individual pixels become smaller and absorb less light, resulting in lower quality photos in low light. To solve this, the iPhone 14 Pro (Max) uses pixel binning. More rumors
The front camera is also improving. The aperture widens, allowing the sensor to capture more light and improve selfies in the dark. Plus, the front camera finally gets decent autofocus. And it’s not just taking pictures that gets better with the new camera lenses. The iPhone 14 Pro also supports 8K video recording.
