Tesla is planning a major update for the Model 3 and Model Y in 2022. Fans of the car manufacturer have already been able to find a list of the planned changes. In addition to many smaller modifications, an update of the infotainment system should also be pending.

Tesla Model 3 / Y: E-cars get a big update

Although a new version of the Tesla Model 3 was only released a few months ago, the electric car is set to run again in 2022 extensive update receive. Changes can also be assumed for the Tesla Model Y, as users of a Tesla forum have learned. Apparently the American carmaker has already submitted the expected modifications to a Dutch authority (source: TFF forum).

The update is supposed to be about right away several areas of the Tesla Model 3 / Y extend. Among other things, a new version of performance brake discs is mentioned. There will also be a new infotainment system and a new connectivity card. Details are still pending, however, as the long list of changes only provides bullet points. The infotainment system uses AMD instead of Intel.

With new lithium-ion batteries low voltage (15.5 volts) can also be expected in the next Tesla Model 3 / Y. In addition, the horn, alarm and AVAS loudspeaker should be available in a “super horn”. The rear windows of the e-cars are given acoustic glazing. There should also be a new belt in the back seat.

Tesla upgrade: No confirmation from the manufacturer

Tesla has not yet confirmed the changes mentioned. Whether there is any new Model 3 and Model Y in 2022, Tesla has not yet revealed either. It can be assumed that, as usual, there will only be an announcement when the e-cars can actually be ordered.
