Like almost every month, September 2022 brings some important changes for employees and consumers. In addition, some new laws come into force.

For example, pharmacies have to accept the so-called e-prescription from September 1st. In addition, various energy-saving measures come into effect. The 9-euro ticket and the tank discount will expire again. The energy price flat rate of 300 euros will take effect in September.

1. The energy price flat rate comes with the September salary

In September 2022, the so-called energy price flat rate of 300 euros will take effect. 2. Energy saving measures come into effect

From September 1, 2022, numerous regulations and measures to save energy will apply in Germany. The aim of the federal government is to reduce the consumption of electricity and gas. From 10 p.m., for example, neon signs must go out.

The temperature in various public buildings is also to be lowered. However, this does not apply to hospitals, schools, day care centers and similar facilities. Monuments and other buildings should no longer be illuminated at night. the Energy Saving Ordinance is initially valid for half a year.

3. E-prescription in pharmacies

From September 1st, all pharmacies in Germany must accept e-prescriptions. This means they must be able to both accept and process digital prescription codes. 4. Amazon Prime is increasing its prices

Amazon Prime will increase its prices from September 15th. Monthly payment for Prime membership will then cost EUR 8.99 instead of EUR 7.99. For subscribers with an annual subscription, the price increases from EUR 69.00 to EUR 89.90. The price increase affects both new and existing customers.

5. The tank discount and 9-euro ticket are being phased out

Both the tank discount and the 9-euro ticket are expiring. Both measures came into effect in June and were limited to three months. Since there will be no tax relief for fuel, the prices for petrol and diesel are likely to rise again in September 2022.

In addition, the so-called 9-euro ticket, with which citizens could use public transport for 9 euros a month, ends. Passengers will therefore have to buy regular tickets again from September 2022. A further offer is currently being discussed in politics.
