Swedish IKEA is known mainly for its affordable furniture, but some time ago the company’s strategy changed a bit and in addition to furniture also sells various chargers, smart lighting, electric blinds, lamps with a wireless charger and much more.
Sjömärke wireless charger
The new Sjömärke product is also a wireless charger, but it is not visible on the table. This module is mounted under the table (using screws or adhesive tape) and the phone is charged even though there is a table between the charger and the phone. However, this only works if the table is at most 2.2 cm thick. This can save you some space if you have a smaller table, for example. On the other hand, it will take you some time to get used to where you need to place your phone to start charging.
IKEA – Using and installing SJÖMÄRKE wireless charger
If you don’t mind, you can stick a sticker on the table to show you the charging point. In addition, the wireless charger has a sensor that prevents overheating and is equipped with Qi 1.2.4 technology, which means that you can charge your phone at 5 W. This is certainly not a revolutionary value, but it is rich enough to charge your phone or headphones. Sjömärke will be available in October for $ 40, which is about 870 crowns without tax.
