With a two-year delay, Tesla is now apparently planning to start production of its cybertruck. According to internal sources, it should start at the end of 2023. However, the final design, price and release date of the new model remain unknown.

Actually, it should have been two years ago. Now Tesla is apparently starting the next attempt to bring its Cybertruck onto the market.

As CNBC reports, the electric car maker plans to start mass production of its pick-up truck by the end of 2023, according to internal sources.

Gigapress for Tesla Cybertruck ready for delivery

One is in the last round for Cybertruck, Elon Musk is said to have said in a conference call with financial analysts. Tesla also hinted last month that it was preparing its Austin, Texas plant.

In addition, the Gigapress, which will be used to cast the die-cast parts for the Cybertruck, is packed and ready for delivery. The Italian manufacturer of the machine gave that in one a few months ago LinkedIn post known.

Tesla Cybertruck is coming later than expected

At the beginning of the year, Musk cited bottlenecks in the procurement of components as the reason for the delayed production of his new e-truck.

But even if the US automaker starts production next year, it will not be able to keep the promises made previously. Potential buyers can only expect the release of the electric truck at the beginning of 2024.

A bit late considering hundreds of thousands of prospects have already paid $100 each to reserve a cybertruck.

Price of the new electric truck not yet known

The exact release date is not yet known. Tesla has not yet announced how much the Cybertruck will ultimately cost.

In 2019, the company initially announced a starting price of under $40,000. However, prices for new vehicles have risen since then, prompting Tesla to adjust the cost of its products.

The design of the Tesla Cybertruck is also still unknown

And what the new vehicle will actually look like has so far remained a secret. In addition, the electric car maker has not commented on how it intends to manage the battery supply of the new model.

With the production of the Cybertruck, Tesla would enter a promising segment enter the US market. At the request for comment from CNBC the carmaker has not yet responded.
