Telegram can now make group calls with image: this is how it works
With Telegram you can send written messages, but from now on you can also use the chat app to make group calls with images. In this article we explain how it works.

Update: Group calling in Telegram
Telegram is one of the most popular alternatives to WhatsApp. The chat app is used by hundreds of millions of people and has added several useful features.
The biggest innovation is that from now on you can make group calls with Telegram. This way you can not only hear, but also see your friends, family or colleagues.
Group calling via Telegram goes like this:
- Download the latest version of Telegram and open the app on your iPhone;
- Start an audio call as usual;
So create a group with the people you want to talk to, or – if you are the administrator of a group – tap the ‘Voice chat’ button directly below the group profile.
- Is everyone in the conversation? Tap the camera icon at the bottom to turn on your video.
You can turn your video off at any time.
You can make audio calls with an unlimited number of people in Telegram, but a maximum of 30 participants can turn on their camera. If 30 people have their video turned on and you want to do this too, you will receive a message that someone else has to turn off her/his camera first. The good news is that this limit will be increased “in the near future,” according to Telegram.
By default you will see all video callers in one window. Do you want to get someone in the picture full screen? Then tap on that person’s video. You can also pin a video so that person is always in view, even when other participants turn on their cameras.
Also a cool update: you can now share your screen in Telegram. This allows others to see what is on your screen. For example, you can show your holiday photos or watch a nice video together.
You can share a screen in Telegram by tapping the three dots at the top right during (video) calling. Then choose ‘Share screen’. Then the other group participants will see your iPhone screen.

FaceTime also gets screen sharing
The option to share your screen in Telegram probably didn’t come up at this time entirely by accident.
iOS 15, the new iPhone update of 2021, will be released later this year. Once this update is available, FaceTime, the default video calling app on iPhones, will also allow you to share your screen with others. Apple calls this feature SharePlay.
