Take a look at the first shots from Stargate: Timekeepers -apkrig

In May, the scent of the 1990s wafted from Slitherine Software’s offices. The publisher of mostly strategic titles, most of which appeal primarily to hardcore fans of the genre, has announced the first Stargate-based strategy, which he simply named Stargate: Timekeepers. However, the event, which had to address a lot of domestic fans in a pleasant way, taking into account the local popularity of the series, was presented until last night only through a short teaser, which said nothing about the content or form of the game. But at a special 4-hour Home of Wargamers – Winter Edition event, CreativeForge Games developers brought the first concrete information and introduced a gameplay video in which Stargate: Timekeepers looks like Commandos in a sci-fi setting.

“Stargate: Timekeepers is a real-time tactical strategy, which is definitely enough for many fans to know what they mean,” said Neil McKenna, producer of Stargate at the beginning of the block. For everyone else, he explained that the player would control a total of six characters – naturally not at once – and would move with them on a large level area. The need to complete the assigned main and secondary tasks will stand in the way of enemies that will need to be bypassed or effectively eliminated so that the unit does not suffer more serious damage and follows the example of the aforementioned Commandos or more modern games from Mimimi Games at the end of each mission. It may sound a little dry, but if you remember what trouble O’Neill’s unit often does. flew in, already opens up space for many tense situations and unexpected moments. Even if you don’t play with O’Neill and his people at Stargate: Timekeepers.

The official Stargate: Timekeepers website on Steam specifies that the game will offer 14 story missions that will begin with the Battle of Antarctica in the seventh season.

As stated in May, Stargate: Timekeepers will not tell any of the famous events. The game follows in the story at the end of the seventh season and continues on its own path. “We have to make a game that will appeal to Stargate fans. We must not forget her DNA, which lies in movies and series, “confirmed McKenna, promising that in addition to his own action, there will be detailed narration of new events. “We work very closely with Metro Goldwyn Mayer and I am convinced that the story remains high,” the producer suggested, although he did not go into details. The official Stargate: Timekeepers website on Steam specifies that the game will offer 14 story missions that will begin with the Battle of Antarctica, where Commander Eva McCain and her team support SG-1 in the fight against Anubis’ fleet. Subsequently, however, players with McCain and members of her team will try to form an alliance with Unasy, but during the fight against the new Goa’uld ruler Dolus, they end up imprisoned in a time loop and start looking for a way out.

As for the other members of the team, you can look forward to sniper Max Bolton, spy Sam Watson, drone operator Derreck Harper, Jaffa fighter A’ta and the last member of the Unas Xugg race. As the developers explained, each of the characters, including Commander McCain, has a set of their own special abilities that will need to be combined appropriately throughout the game to make the missions a success. The developers also expect to give players the ability to carefully plan and launch all steps at one time through a special tactical mode, but unfortunately we have not seen it in action yet. The attached video, which is available without sound for an unknown reason, presents pleasing and quite detailed graphics with interactive elements and the usual attributes of games of this genre. Probably the most striking are the sections of the enemy’s field of vision, including a representation of where they will see your character if he is not crouched. For the purpose of shooting the first shots, the developers have turned off the interface – which apparently does not yet have a final form – so we can only estimate how different it is from similar games, or how the individual instructions are given. However, there is no indication that the people at CreativeForge want to invent wheel and everything works as you probably expect.

At the end of the Stargate: Timekeepers block, Neil McKenna indicated that all missions would have several possible solutions, which he said was quite a challenge, but everyone on the team felt they had a great commitment to the fans and did not want to disappoint them. “It’s something you have to do to make the game really shine and players return to each level repeatedly,” McKenna said, adding that it could be done next summer. According to the producer, the game should enter the beta at the turn of March and April, and then it will only depend on how quickly it manages to fine-tune the latest issues and eliminate all mistakes. At the moment, it is said that it is possible to go through the game from beginning to end, but not all the dialogues and especially dubbing, with which CreativeForge has struggled, especially the parties of suitable actors, have been processed yet. However, they have already been found and occupied in the game, so everything is going according to plan.
