T-Mobile will immediately stop as a sponsor of TV program The Voice of Holland

The collaboration between telecom provider T-Mobile and the television program The Voice of Holland will be terminated immediately. The magenta-colored provider announced this news on Sunday afternoon. The reason is the commotion surrounding the talent show.

T-Mobile stops TVOH

The Voice of Holland is one of the better viewed television programs in the Netherlands. Where Vodafone was previously the main sponsor of the talent show, that baton has been taken over by T-Mobile for some time. Yesterday, the talent show was negatively in the news due to reports of sexually transgressive behavior and abuse of power. Band leader Jeroen Rietbergen resigned after he announced that he was involved in these accusations. More people are said to be guilty, according to the BOOS program that has investigated the case, including Ali B.

This news about The Voice of Holland made telecom provider T-Mobile decide to immediately turn off the money tap and stop sponsoring the music program. T-Mobile has the following response about this;

“We have decided, based on all the reports of the past 24 hours, to immediately stop sponsoring the current The Voice of Holland. We disapprove of any form of transgressive behavior and as a company we expressly distance ourselves from this. Once again, our condolences go out to all involved.”

According to the Gelderlander, Lidl would still await the upcoming investigation into the abuses. Lidl is also an important sponsor for the program. It is currently unknown what the termination of T-Mobile as a sponsor will mean for The Voice of Holland. RTL already announced yesterday that the broadcasts of The Voice of Holland will be discontinued for the time being.
