Switch game scores 96 percent on Metacritic
There are a lot of great games on the Nintendo Switch. Brands like Super Mario and Zelda in particular achieve impressive ratings of over 90 percent on the review aggregator Metacritic. In the shadow of these games, however, there is another switch game that critics and players are extremely enthusiastic about.
Better than Zelda? VN surpasses Tears of the Kingdom
Whether you like them or not, sites like Metacritic or OpenCritic have established themselves as fixed size in the video game market established and are considered by quite a few players as a benchmark or even a killer argument for quality.
When a game like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom achieves a score of 96 percent, it not only triggers hype on the internet, but also cements its status as a masterpiece. And Nintendo has produced several such diamonds. These include, for example, Super Mario Odyssey (97 percent) or Metroid Prime Remastered (94 percent).
Pretty much every gamer knows these names and brands. The Switch game, on the other hand, is almost unknown The House in Fata Morgana. With 96 percent, the game is even ahead of Tears of the Kingdom (see Metacritic).
The House in Fata Morgana is one visual novel from the year 2012, which was relaunched for the Switch in 2021, prettied up and with all extensions. In the extremely text-heavy game, you accompany numerous characters over several centuries and experience a story full of tragedy and suffering.
That’s what critics and fans say about the Switch insider tip
The game’s story is so well written that some fans cite The House in Mirage as the best VN ever. Some even speak of the greatest video game story of all time. Here are a few excerpts from the reviews:
“The House in Fata Morgana on Nintendo Switch is the best way to experience a true masterpiece of storytelling.” (Source: The Mako Reactor)
“The House in Fata Morgana had a profound effect on me: I now have an answer to the question ‘What was the last game that brought you to tears?'” (source: Nintendo World Report)
“The House in Fata Morgana is a true work of art and does not miss any aspect of its concept. Highly recommended for fans of the genre.” (Source: Universe Nintendo)
The PC version on Steam will also be available highly praised by the players. Here the visual novel has a positive user score of 95 percent (see Steam).
Of course there are also critical voices. After all, VNs are a fairly specific video game genre. Bad tongues might even claim that The House in Mirage isn’t actually a video game at all. After all, you click through text boxes for 30 hours. Plain presentation included. But if you get caught up in the storyline, you might have one of the most lasting video game experiences of your life.
