The Japanese Square Enix have a number of interesting titles and series in their portfolio, and some of them are currently in development. So it is quite possible that we will see some news about Final Fantasy XVI, Babylon’s Fall or Life Is Strange. There is also an RPG Forspoken or another sequel to the Tomb Raider series. My novelty from Eidos Montreal is to be shown, and there is also talk of a game project with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

Square Enix certainly didn’t let themselves be embarrassed and right at the very beginning they came out with a stuffed trailer for the game adaptation of the Guardians of the Galaxy from Marvel with the simple name Guardians of the Galaxy. This is a single-player action adventure developed by the Eidos Montreal studio. The game does not try to copy comics directly and not movies at all, which also means that, as in the game Avengers, the characters do not bear the faces of filmmakers. The game is looking for its own way to tell and experience their new adventure, as evidenced by a demonstration of gameplay. The game will arrive on October 26 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S.

Babylon’s Fall

There was more or less a long silence around Babylon’s Fall after the announcement in 2018 and the trailer in 2019. It was finally broken today and new details have emerged about this upcoming hack’n’slash game, which is backed by Platinum Games studio, the authors of Bayonetta or NieR: Automata. The Tower of Babel has brought destruction to the whole world, and a group of heroes will have to enter its bowels and fight their way through and up. This can be done alone or in cooperation with up to three other players. The artistic side of the game then combines fantasy elements with the technique and aesthetics of medieval oil painting. Babylon’s Fall will be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and those interested can now sign up for the closed beta.

Marvel’s Avengers: Black Panther | War for Wakanda

Crystal Dynamics continues to move within its roadmap of additions to the Avengers, and so it is finally time for the arrival of King Wakanda, the popular hero of the Black Panther. The full name of the extension is War for Wakanda and will be available in August this year. As T’Challa, we will be able to explore Wakanda and look forward to other famous characters like Shur, Dora Milaje or Ulysses Klaue as a villain.

STRANGER OF PARADISE FINAL FANTASY ORIGIN

The addition to the world of Final Fantasy is called Stranger of Paradise. The souls-style spin-off is being developed by Team Ninja, who are behind Ninja Gaiden or Nioh, and is scheduled for release in 2022 for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X | With and for PC. The main character is Jack, who with his companions Jed and Ash intends to defeat Chaos, but the question is whether they are really the chosen warriors of light spoken of by the prophecy. PlayStation 5 players will have a trial version until June 24, where they can explore this new world and try fighting a number of monsters from the Final Fantasy series.

Life is Strange: True Colors

The Life is Strange series will get another full-fledged sequel this year. It is subtitled True Colors and as a whole (not in episodic format) will be released on September 10 on Xbox, PlayStation, Stadia and PC. In the sequel, the players will play the role of the girl Alex Chen, who, using her unique abilities of empathy and reading emotions, searches for the causes of her brother’s death and alleged accident. On this occasion, the publisher Square Enix also reminded of the upcoming remasters of the original Life is Strange and Before the Storm, which will also arrive this year and which will be available in the most expensive edition of True Colors.
