‘Suddenly it flies at me; what am I doing here on my own?’

I envisioned it all: 48 hours to myself in the beautiful city of Vienna. By invitation I flew to the capital of Austria for a fashion show. So instead of the first flight back, I booked my return 48 hours later. I didn’t have to take care of anyone, consider anyone, and wait for anyone. Blessed isn’t it?

on my own

When I arrive at my hotel – which is just a bit further out of town than I thought – it suddenly hits me. What am I actually doing here on my own? A fit of homesickness overtakes me. All right, find a distraction and walk into town.

My hotel is located next to the largest amusement park in all of Austria with the most exotic attractions. Elin and Mats would love this, so I make videos and photos for them. Then I end up in a park with endless playgrounds and a very relaxed vibe. Hmm, this city trip would also be great fun with children. I walk past souvenir shops where I buy nice things for my offspring.

Me time

What is that? You finally have me-time and your head is still full with your family. While I walk around the beautiful city that feels like one big open-air museum with all the majestic buildings and perfectly maintained city parks, I am happy more and more relaxing. Okay, I’m here now, let me enjoy it. The glorious sunshine, a good schnitzel and a tasty Aperol Spritz do wonders. But the next trip I will do it again with my family.
