ST’ART: it’s a bomb!
In 2019, Boris and Aurélien, two Dijon graffiti fans, challenge themselves to set up an associative application to support this urban artistic form at will. They then develop ST’ART which got a makeover a few weeks ago with a new interface. Available for phones Android and the iPhone, she allows to know where the works of street art are located around you. Thanks to an ultra-precise map and GPS, you know exactly where you need to go if you want to contemplate these paintings that will delight your pupils. The application is participatory and you can therefore also add your finds on the map and, at the same time, to make known graffiti artists and their masterpieces.
For each concrete canvas, you can upload a photo, inform the author and give the location. On the user side, an itinerary function is now available on each file and geolocation allows you to see in real time where you are in relation to the graffiti you want to join. With just one click, you activate Google maps which opens directly in the app. You can also activate alerts to know when a new artwork is added to the map. The “News” tab precisely references the recent additions of the week. Finally, “Agenda”, as its name suggests, gives pride of place to upcoming events revolving around street art.
Artists can also open a presentation sheet to talk about them and their way of creating. Everyone has the option of adding links to their associated sites and social networks.
ST’ART lists for now nearly 10,000 works worldwide, including more than 9,000 in France, but the community grows the offer a little more every day. Whether in Spain, Portugal, Belgium or Germany, the census is growing and there is even some information from the United States. There is no doubt that things will accelerate of their own accord when the borders reopen and tourism resumes its place in the daily life of the French.
