Starlink reaches millionth subscriber – Apparata
Starlink, Elon Musk’s satellite internet provider, is experiencing rapid growth. With hundreds of satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and a rollout across more and more geographies, Starlink is now becoming a truly mature network with global coverage.
The benefits of Starlink
In a neatly raked country like the Netherlands you can generally get by with broadband internet or 4G, but large parts of the world are sparsely populated. Think, for example, of northern Canada and Alaska, the interior of Australia and the Greek islands. Satellite internet is actually the only solution there to still get a reliable and fast internet connection.
And in that regard, Starlink offers quite a bit of bang for your buck. Even if you often travel with, for example, a camper van, seaworthy yacht or caravan, or your private plane, Starlink is your connection to the outside world.
1 million users mature the Starlink network
With 1 million users, each paying at least around €85 per month, Starlink has now become a multi-billion dollar company. Currently, Starlink is available in most of North America and Europe, Australia and New Zealand, most of Brazil, Chile and Japan.
Soon Starlink subscriptions will also be available throughout Africa, the rest of South America and all Asian countries except Russia, China, Iran, Syria and Afghanistan. This is a major benefit, especially for sparsely populated African countries. Starlink customers can benefit from between 50 and 200 Mb speed.
Explosive growth expected to reach tens of millions of users
NB: in addition to the € 85 monthly subscription fee, you also have to pay a one-off € 450 for the equipment. Nevertheless, Starlink is expected to experience explosive growth. Then you should soon think of tens of millions of subscribers all over the world and therefore many tens of billions of sales.
