Star Wars: The Lando Series Still Planned, Lucasfilm Says
Lucasfilm had already announced the series lando with Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, but it’s been a while. Is the program still current? Absolutely.
On the occasion of the Star Wars Celebration, Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, confirmed to IGN than the series lando was always planned. She also assures that Donald Glover is still part of the project and that he is ” very enthusiastic “ on this subject.
It was uncertain whether Donald Glover would reprise his role as young Lando Calrissian, who he played for the first time in the film Solo: A Star Wars Story. Earlier this week, when asked about the possibility of reprising his role, the actor told QG that he was not “not interested in doing something that would be a waste of time or just a paycheck”but he added: “yes, I mean, we talk about it. That’s all I can say without Kathleen Kennedy stalking me.”.
The first announcement of the series lando dates back to 2019, when Lucasfilm unveiled its roadmap with several series. The series is in preparation by Justin Simien, the director, screenwriter and producer of Dear White People (both the film and the series). He also directed the horror film bad hair.
