Square Enix announces Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (FF VII Remake part 2) and Crisis Core remaster (trailers)

Finally ! Square-Enix announced the sequel to its fabulous Remake of the no less fabulous Final Fantasy VII. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be the second part of what will ultimately be a trilogy. And once again if we stick to the trailer, the Japanese studio will not blindly follow the story of the original game, which could well confuse some fans in passing. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be directed by Naoki Hamaguchi, and we will still have to wait until the end of 2023 to enjoy it on PS5.

Note that this second part can be played as a completely standalone title, although it is of course very advisable to start with part 1 of the Remake (available on PC and PS4/PS5). The year 2023 will be busy for the license since Final Fantasy 16 will be released just a few months before Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

In addition to this highly anticipated announcement, Square Enix also presented the remaster of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, a spin-off of FF VII centered on the character Zack Fair which was released on PSP in 2007. Called Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion, this remaster will also be released in 2023 on absolutely all platforms, i.e. PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series, PS4 and PS5 and even Nintendo Switch.
