Music service Spotify has announced that it will say goodbye to the criticized play button. It is the green colored button that can be seen with playlists and albums. This can be recognized by the green circle with a small circle next to it with the shuffle icon. The functionality of the button varies by device. For example, it can serve as a shuffle button on mobile devices, while it has another option on the computer.

Spotify will replace the button with two separate buttons; a play button and a shuffle button. However, not for everyone; only the paying users get this. This is partly because the free version of Spotify on the phone can only be used in shuffle mode. The rollout should be complete in the coming weeks.
