Spotify for Wear OS gets a big update
Since Google discontinued support for Google Play Music, the smart watch has lacked one important feature – the ability to listen to music without having to carry a smartphone. Spotify has decided to resolve this issue. It has worked on its application for smart watches and its latest version will, among other things, offer the possibility to stream music directly through the watch. The portal informed about the news AndroidPolice.
With the new version of the application, you will no longer have to have your mobile phone with you at all times when you want to play music through your watch. You will be able to stream it directly to the Spotify application for Wear OS. You’ll also finally be able to download music and podcasts directly to your watch so you can listen offline if your watch doesn’t support a data connection. The new version will also support Spotify Connect, which allows you to easily select which available device you want to play music on.
Spotify has not yet released the release date of the update
It is not yet known exactly when the application will be updated. But we hope it will be soon – or at least as soon as it is new Wear OS 3 available. However, if you don’t use Spotify and prefer YouTube Music, you can look forward to it a new watch app that comes with the new Wear OS.
