After the official announcement in May 2021, Spotify has now followed its words with deeds in Germany. An update of the app for the Apple Watch is now available, with which a long-awaited feature finally finds its way. For listening to music through Spotify, no internet connection required. However, users have to take action themselves in order to stay supplied with music offline.

Owners of an Apple Watch can now use individual songs, albums or an entire playlist save on the smartwatch. All you have to do is navigate to the Spotify menu and tap the “Download to Apple Watch” line. The songs land on the Apple Watch, which is confirmed visually with a small green arrow next to the songs (source: Spotify).

An accompanying smartphone is no longer required after the download, which offers several advantages: “Perfect for the next run or to keep both hands concentrated while cooking. Leave your cell phone behind and still stay connected to the music and podcasts you love, ”says the announcement. Headphones are now sufficient next to the Apple Watch on the wrist.
