Spock comes to life in Star Trek: Resurgence -apkrig

During the game ceremony The Game Awards 2021, the Dramatic Labs studio announced a new major Star Trek title after many years with the subtitle Resurgence. This is a modern story adventure that tells its own story set after the events of the New Generation series. We will find ourselves on board the new ship USS Resolute, where the player will take on two characters – the first officer named Jara Rydek and engineer Carter Diaz. Their task will be to help you uncover some sinister mystery involving two alien civilizations on the brink of war.

Star Trek: Resurgence is set exactly in the year 2380, so it immediately follows the films with the crew of the New Generation.

The authors promise that we will dive into the Star Trek universe, come across new and familiar characters, and in addition to dialogues, we will also have events. As in the Telltale games, for example, the story is supposed to branch out based on our choices and decisions. We will build relationships, we will be piloting a space shuttle, shooting from a phaser, using a tricorder and sneaking. We can also look forward to new races. We will watch the game from the perspective of a third person over the shoulder of the controlled character. The title has to offer one epic story, attracting authors and switching heroes throughout the story.

Although the ship and crew are new, the authors also attract us to popular characters, about whom they will say more in the future. But one of them is apparently Mr. Spock with the face of the late actor Leonard Nimoy, who will be given a voice by someone else. It is a purely story single game that will not contain any microtransactions, DLC or other additional monetization models, the team promises. The developers say they are fans of Star Trek and that they are honored to make this game for them.

As already mentioned, Dramatic Labs is working on the title, an independent team of more than 20 members, made up of former key employees of Telltale Games. Hence the similarity. This is several times a team and project following the Telltale tradition. The authors explicitly promise that the gameplay will be familiar to the fans, but they will add their own improvements and news. The authors use Epic’s Unreal Engine and Beanie’s own technology to branch out the story and tell the story. They will release the game themselves in cooperation with Epic Games.

What is remarkable to me is, in a good way, the fact that the authors chose TNG and the close post of the TNG period instead of some current series such as Discovery or Picard. This in itself gives rise to the assumption of who we might still meet in the game, in theory.

Star Trek: Resurgence is targeting the PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series and will be released next spring.
