Specialists will remain in Battlefield 2042, says DICE -apkrig

Although the release of Battlefield 2042 is still a few weeks away, the DICE developers have put together a long post in which they talk about the differences that will differentiate the final version from the recently available beta. If we give the party the opportunity to finally play a new Battlefield and soak up something more from the atmosphere and the fights themselves, the players were quite critical, to which the developers responded during the test by claiming that the beta is several months old and many reported issues have been fixed. However, the people from DICE continue to try to reassure the fans and describe in detail what will change and what will not change, because even such things are here regardless of the criticism.

If you are not currently a fan of specialists – a replacement for more traditional classes of soldiers – then we do not have good news for you. Although a wave of protest arose and players expressed their desire for developers to change the system, it is already so inextricably linked to the game’s design that it cannot be backed down. And probably not even if the developers wanted to. Therefore, they do not look at anything and reveal the remaining five specialists, who will be available with the release of the game and remind that it is a carefully prepared evolution of the whole series. “Specialists with unique characteristics and capabilities are the next step in the development of a class system. It will allow players to have more influence over the game and take team collaboration to a new level, ”say the developers. However, they do not comment on whether they will at least prepare two different skins for both warring parties in order to avoid clashes of identical clones, which were also very difficult to navigate due to insufficiently strong identification of comrades and enemies.

But that’s what the developers promised to work on, and in one part of the blog post they talk about the game interface. Recognition of teammates should be much clearer, as well as communication with the team, orientation on the map or pinging. In the full version, players will get to the entire map of the battlefield, which was not possible in beta. Some elements in the specialist’s viewfinder will be reorganized – in other words, in the on-screen interface, and the compass will be important to be turned on, which will always be present, not just while aiming through your weapon. The developers will also add alerts for grenades that landed in close proximity and have also worked on settings for players with visual impairments and color blindness. As for the ping system, it should respond more clearly to what exactly you mark and give your teammates straightforward information, which was a significant problem in beta. The last significant improvement is the connection of the Commorose communication menu, which without the need to say anything into the microphone, or own the microphone at all, gives the player the ability to quickly and clearly say what he does, where he runs, or what he needs from his teammates.

An integral part of the experience in Battlefield 2042 is also a sophisticated system for managing the player’s equipment, but in beta, according to the developers, it was made available to players a little artificially. The people at DICE decided to unlock most of the upcoming system quickly, so that players could test the use of some gadgets, which they will get to gradually, which could lead to a misconception of how the system will work. “For the first 4-6 hours in a full game, you will only work with a limited offer of gadgets and the others will get smoothly. You will de facto complete the traditional experience of Battlefield, where selected classes play a role, in the first ten levels, ”say the developers. Only later will partial specialization and the possibility of using universal properties in combination with almost any specialist come into play. Nevertheless, the developers will keep the templates available in the game, which represent classes such as medic, support, explorer or shooter. To let players know what they can look forward to, the developers have released another illustrative video that clearly shows weapon management, which has also been criticized, especially for the sudden reset of all settings, leading to frustration and reluctance to focus on weapons.

The last big area that the authors of Battlefield 2042 focus on is the technical background of the game and the functioning of the servers, which of course includes matchmaking and pairing with shoes. The developers were surprised that there were situations where there were more boots than live players and they suggest that this is definitely not the intention. They promise to eliminate problems and guarantee that the bots will only fill in space and always retreating live players. The mistakes in matcmahking also concerned the placement of players on servers in different regions, which adversely affects the response and fluency of the whole game. Even these shortcomings are committed to eliminating these shortcomings from DICE and they promise trouble-free operation. This should also apply to the game as such, which suffered from a large number of glitches on consoles and PCs and showed that a few months ago the game was not very good in terms of cleaning and optimization. In the current version of the game, which the developers are working on and from which the final version will emerge, the technical condition is said to be much better and in the remaining weeks the developers will improve everything even more. “We knew the beta wouldn’t show how we’re fine-tuning the game now, and it won’t benefit from the work we’ve done since August,” DICE officials said, explaining what was behind the unconvincing result. In any case, the time for repairs is starting to decrease.
