Although many EA fans have been disappointed in advance by announcing that their presentation will not be about some of their most significant projects, such as Mass Effect, Dragon Age or anything new in the world of Star Wars, it is still to be expected that EA will present and show a proper game charge. We can look forward to news from Battlefield 2042, Apex Legends and Lost in Random will also appear, which has already partially appeared in the pre-show. In the air, however, the main question is about the new addition to the Dead Space series – will we see a performance?
Dead Space
As expected, the hopes of many horror fans were fulfilled when, at the end of the event, he received the coveted trailer for Dead Space. However, this is not a sequel, but a remake of the original game, which in 2008 surprised many players with the quality and the fact that it is a scary and great gameplay (86% on the Metacritic server for the PC version speaks for itself). The novelty can raise even greater expectations just because it will not follow in the footsteps of a more lukewarmly accepted sequel. The remake will go to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC without unspecified details. EA Motive (Star Wars: Squadrons) is taking care of the development and the novelty will be expected to use the latest generation of the Frostbite engine. We don’t know the release date yet, but since Dead Space is only for new consoles and the date wasn’t indicated in the teaser at least the planned year, we can wait a long time.
Grid Legends
After the introductory Codreasters showreel, the first big announcement awaited us, which is a new part of the legendary GRID racing series. This time, however, it will not only be about racing itself, but also about a strong story together with augmented reality. One of the three central heroes who will compete for the title of the best driver in the world is the actor Ncuti Gatwa, whom you may know mainly from the series Sex Education on Netflix, where he plays the role of Erik Effiong. We can look forward to 130 tracks, including racetracks, street tracks and iconic circuits from previous parts of the GRID series (for example, San Francisco, Paris). We will be able to drive on them in more than a hundred different vehicles. GRID Legends is coming to the Xbox Series S and X, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and PC next year.
Battlefield 2042
The Battlefield Portal mode announced for Battlefield 2042 aspires to be one of the most ambitious multiplayer achievements the series has ever experienced, as it combines everything that players have loved so much. Specifically, it is a number of popular maps, thanks to which we can go back to the battlefields from Battlefield 1942, Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3, which have undergone various visual modifications, but still retain their original appearance. But the real fun starts with the possibility to create any mode in which you can mix any of the mentioned games and of course the current Battlefield 2042. Players set their own rules, get the opportunity to script the modes slightly, and thus pit German soldiers from World War II and the Americans as they fought in Vietnam. The portal will arrive together with the game itself on October 22.
Apex Legends
Another big update for Apex Legends, which introduces a new legend called Seer, is called Emergence. However, the new hero is not the only novelty, the developers have decided to work more with the already introduced arena mode, which players liked, and this is another way to enjoy Apex without having to pay attention to the battle royale genre. Players of similar abilities compete in a three-on-three battle, and in the future they can experience a whole new gaming experience at Apex in a much smaller arena for ranked matches.
Lost in Random
Lost in Random is basically such an unconventional dark fairy tale, and its concept and processing, which refers to classic stop-motion animation, to which it also pays homage, attracted considerable attention two years ago. This time we were shown a gameplay trailer and also revealed the release date, which is set for September this year. In the story, our goal will be to bring together the evil-separated sisters again after a long time, with the help of a faithful Dicey and a number of interesting fighting creations. The video focused on a combat system that combines the possibilities of a dice and a main heroine with the help of cards and other modifiers.
Knockout City
Unloaded by developers from Velan Studios, it will start its second season on July 27 on all platforms. The Knockout City game will grow with content inspired by the world of vilm, which is where the name comes from – Fight in the Movies. Players can look forward to a new map, five playlists or three special events. In the trailer for EA Play Live, we could see in particular the features of the changing map, which will adjust the scenery according to the set rules or the selected playlist. Large mosses will also appear on the map, for another version a huge castle or a somewhat psychedelic children’s room in life size. A great feature of the game is that players from all platforms can play together, including PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC, with up to level 25 playing for free.
