Sony’s new professional controller is so incredibly expensive
The PS5 Pro controller DualSense Edge was announced months ago, only now have the release date and price been set. Gamers will have to wait until next year – and dig really deep into their pockets. Pre-orders are possible from October 25th.
DualSense Edge: PS5 controller costs 239.99 euros
Sony had already presented its professional controller DualSense Edge for the PlayStation 5 at the end of August. So far, however, both the release date and the price have been a secret. That has now changed: Sony will make the controller Offer worldwide from January 26, 2023 – at a price that has paid off. The group wants a total of 239.99 euros for the DualSense Edge (source: Playstation).
For this amount, in addition to the controller, a number of accessories included in the package, after all, Sony wants to market the DualSense Edge as a modular controller. There are three sets of interchangeable stick caps, two semi-circular back buttons and two lever back buttons, along with a braided USB cable, connector housing and protective pouch. All contents pack into the pocket, similar to Microsoft’s Elite Series 2.
The controller can not only be changed physically, but also individualize via software. Keys can be reassigned or disabled if required. The sensitivity of the sticks and triggers is also a matter of setting. Several controller profiles can be saved and called up depending on the game.
This is what the DualSense Edge offers:
