Sony’s first drone is very expensive
The Sony Airpeak S1 is the Japanese company’s first drone. At the very least, the thing is not very cheap.
When it comes to drones, DJI is the absolute king. But Sony is now also joining the fray. The Japanese tech company has announced its first drone. That’s the Sony Airpeak S1.
Sony focuses more on the professional market with this device. At least, with a price tag of 9,000 dollars you won’t appeal to a lot of consumers with it. What the brand is known for are beautiful cameras. And this drone is also compatible to hang cameras from Sony.
Sony Airpeak S1: the possibilities
It is in any case not a plug & play drone like the consumer drones from DJI are. For example, you need separate batteries to make the device fly. The drone has a maximum speed of more than 70 kilometers per hour. The device is capable of capturing stable images even at such high speeds. That can produce very cool images.
The flight time is about 12 minutes, or 22 minutes if you don’t have a camera attached. Watch the attached videos to see the Sony Airpeak S1 in detail.
