Sony makes Android 13 available for several Xperia smartphones
Sony is (seriously) starting to offer Android 13 for its smartphones. The manufacturer had started last month with its Xperia 1 XV and now it keep on going today with other models.
Sony Xperia 5IV
Android 13 is now available for Xperia 5 IV, Xperia Pro-I, Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III. We can imagine that others will follow over the weeks and months, but there is not yet a list.
The Xperia 5 IV currently has the right to Android 13 in Southeast Asia and Japan. Owners of Sony’s compact device can identify the new update by build number 64.1.A.0.857 (Asia)/64.1.C.0.90 (NTT Docomo/Japan). The release includes the December 2022 Android security patches. It is not yet clear when models in other regions will be able to take advantage of them.
On the other hand, the update for Xperia 1 III has build number 61.2.A.0.382, that for Xperia 5 III is numbered 61.2.A.0.381 and that for Xperia Pro-I has build 61.2 .F.0.147. The three smartphones have the November 2022 security updates and not December, without anyone really knowing why. And as for the Xperia 5 IV, the deployment of Android 13 concerns Asia for the moment. Europe and other regions must wait for the equivalent version.
